Yang Yanwen

Yang Yanwen was born in Shen County, Hebei Province in 1939.

He is now member of the Chinese Artists Association and professional painter at Beijing Painting Studio.
In 1963, he graduated from professor Wu Guanzhong’s studio at Beijing Art Academy. Chinese landscapes and oil paintings are his principal interests while he also does wall paintings. The themes and forms of expression of his creations are greatly diversified. He has done intensive research in combining color and ink, lines and faces in his paintings. Gradually he has formed a distinctive personal style of forceful, fresh, rhythmical brushstrokes, and perfect combination of the Western and Chinese forms of expression.

His work “Rain Over River and Village” was awarded the Gold Medal at the Manciano International Arts Exhibition in Italy in 1983.
