artASIA will inaugurate it's first International Asian Contemporary Art
Fair in 2008 from December 4-7 with a special preview on December 3rd
. Amid today's atmosphere of great interest and increasing focus on Asia,
many of the artistic voices and exciting ideas from these regions are
still under-represented in the current major art fairs. It was with this
in mind that the idea of artASIA art fair was born. artASIA will be a
unique international introduction and showcase exhibiting paintings, drawings,
sculptures, photographs, installations, video and editioned artworks of
the highest quality from the world's cutting edge galleries representing
top Asian artists from areas including China, Korea, Japan, South Asia,
India and the Middle East.
artASIA will be housed in a 60,000sq
ft luxury pavilion erected in the heart of the Wynwood District in Miami's
Midtown on the corner of Midtown Boulevard and 31st Street, just a few
blocks away from SCOPE Miami's venue. This new important International
Asian Contemporary Art Fair is also conveniently close to PULSE Contemporary
Art Fair and Design Miami.
artASIA art fair will host 60-80 leading
world galleries selected through an international selection committee
and will further feature a strong program of talks, presentations and
discussions by leading authorities in contemporary art - curators, artists,
critics, notable collectors and other art specialists - concerning issues
that matter in Asian contemporary art today.
artASIA's internationally renowned
curators, along with assistance from a top curatorial team, will produce
an unsurpassed look into the current state of Asian contemporary arts.
With this notable direction along with its schedule of lectures and presentations,
artASIA is assured to provide exciting opportunities to both the experienced
collector as well as those unfamiliar with today's contemporary Asian
art scene.
